Stars of the Bronx, painted on the Bronx River Art Center’s corrugated metal roll down gates, honors Bronx-born luminaries in the arts. The alternating narrow and wide gates on the two corner walls create a pattern that allows the viewer to focus on the individual portraits – painted in the artists’ personal styles – while integrating the sections into a coherent whole.
